Senator the Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs welcomed India's Minister for External Affairs, Dr. S Jaishankar, to Canberra for the 15th Australia-India Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue on 5-6 November, 2024. The visit highlighted the strong strategic, economic, and community ties between the two nations, with nearly one million Australians tracing their heritage to India. The ministers discussed advancing cooperation in sectors such as science and technology, clean energy, trade, and investment, as well as deepening defence and maritime security engagement. They also attended 'Raisina Down Under,' an important forum for discussing regional trends. This visit marked the 19th meeting between the two ministers, reinforcing the Australia-India relationship.
