Senator the Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Senator the Hon Don Farrell, Minister for Trade and Tourism attend the launch of the Centre for Australia-Indian Relations (CAIR) at Commbank Arena in Parramatta on Monday 20th February 2024. Both Ministers gave remarks at the event, which was MC’d by Indira Naidoo.
The Centre for Australia-India Relations is a national platform established by the Australian Government in 2023 to support and facilitate greater collaboration and engagement with India. The Centre works across all levels of government, industry, academia and civil society to build greater understanding of the Australia-India relationship and the opportunities flowing from our burgeoning connections.
Also in attendance are The Hon Michelle Rowland, MP, Minster for Communications, The Hon Matt Keogh MP, Minister for Veterans' Affairs and Defence Personnel, Lord Mayor Councillor Pierre Esber, City of Parramatta, His Excellency High Commissioner Gopal Baglay, High Commissioner of India to Australia, Dr Sarvesvaran, Consul-General of India in Sydney, as well as many other State and Federal politicians, CAIR Advisory Board members and distinguished guests.
