    The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) hosted the annual Iftar Dinner to celebrate the Ramadan period and recognise the contributions of the Australian and international Muslim community. Opening remarks were given by the Minister Anne Aly, Minister Thistlethwaite and Minister Tim Watts. DFAT's Deputy Secretary Harinder Sidhu hosted the event and Chief of Protocol Jonathan Muir acted as the MC. The event was attended by the members of Parliament and the Diplomatic Corps. The dinner was held at Old Parliament House on the 10th of March 2026.
