During this Partnerships for a Healthy Region (PHR) First Nations Engagement Community of Practice (CoP), we were joined by Alice Tamang, who presented on Indigenous Pathways,Indigenous-led component of the Australian Volunteers Program.

There are many similarities between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Solomon Islander culture: music, dance, stori, song, artwork, and carving. These shared connections are what unite the Pacific together into one family. To celebrate this shared culture, the Australian High Commission is bringing Mr Jeremy Donovan, an Australian First Nations musician, artist and storyteller, to Solomon Islands from 22 – 29 March 2026. This is Mr Donovan’s third visit to Solomon Islands

Foreign Minister Penny Wong thanks the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade during Senate Question Time for their efforts in the Middle East crisis

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) hosted the annual Iftar Dinner to celebrate the Ramadan period and recognise the contributions of the Australian and international Muslim community. Opening remarks were given by the Minister Anne Aly, Minister Thistlethwaite and Minister Tim Watts. DFAT's Deputy Secretary Harinder Sidhu hosted the event and Chief of Protocol Jonathan Muir acted as the MC. The event was attended by the members of Parliament and the Diplomatic Corps. The dinner was held at Old Parliament House on the 10th of March 2026.
